Vidya Aithal

Vidya Aithal is a texture artist based in Bengaluru, working under the name Daffodils. She paints in acrylic, texture paste and gold, building raised surfaces on canvas and canvas board.

Her work moves between three groups: sculpted florals, layered horizons and landscapes, and geometric fields worked with the palette knife. Most pieces are small — eight or ten inches square — and made to be seen close enough that the surface reads as much as the image.
